The Standard | NCIC deputy chair Mary Onyango dies in Kisumu

National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) vice- chairperson Mary Onyango has passed on at a Kisumu Hospital.

The NCIC deputy chair succumbed to breast cancer on Saturday morning at Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu. She has been battling breast cancer for the last 13 years.
Mary Onyango has had a career on a senior management level in the public sector, including the management boards of several private and Government owned institutions, spanning over 25 years.
She was also extensively involved in public interest work. She was the founding Member and Executive Director of the Kenya Breast Health Programme and she has sat on the boards of several charities and civil society organisations in Kenya.
Mary Onyango holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in accounting from the University of Nairobi, an MBA in Finance from the Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and a Masters Degree in Public Health from Kenyatta University. She was a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.(Read related Story)
