THE appointment of Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa as the Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister was meant to scuttle the reform process, an MP claimed yesterday. Kasipul Kabondo MP Oyugi Magwanga said Wamalwa cannot be trusted with the implementation of the constitution which he opposed. “The move is aimed at derailing the reform process and the implementation of the constitution,” said Magwanga.
Magwanga said unless Kenyans press the MPs to enact the remaining legislations in time, there is a risk of passing laws that will not meet the aspirations of a democratic and stable country. The MP’s sentiments were echoed by other leaders from Homa Bay county among them Bridgestone Construction official Tom Okoko, Oyugis deputy Mayor Evans Omondi, and local ODM branch officials, Aguko Mayora and Jack Nduri. Omondi said claimed that  the recent Cabinet changes will undermine the reform process in the country.
