The Assistant minister had attended a burial ceremony for his father in law in Kabondo when the accident occurred at 4.30 PM.
He was scheduled to join his ODM colleagues in Mombasa for the party's NEC meeting. He was immediately rushed to the Aga Khan hospital Kisumu having sustained minor injuries.
His vehicle, a Toyota Prado, veered off the road to avoid ramming into another car that had slowed down to avoid hitting a pothole.
